Suere is a Latin word meaning “To Sew” and it perfectly describes how I see Religion and /or the various philosophies I came across during my life. My Name is Luciana “luci” I was born into a 3rd generation Umbanda/ Quimbanda Priestesses being baptised and initiated before I could even properly speak and grew up (of course) to became an Umbanda Priestess.
At school and on Sundays I attended Catholic teachings, growing up and changing schools I came across Protestant Church and at some point got interested on studying the scriptures to the point of studying to become a Pastor being a Pastor wasn’t really my calling so I went on studying all kinds of religions and philosophies I could come across as of: Buddhism, Wicca, Paganism, Ifa, Santeria, Spiritism, Candomble and many others which will be writing and speaking about on our podcast.
What I understood from all I’ve been learning is that I love, respect, and have an interest in all religions and philosophies, everything that makes me feel good is welcomed. Studying and researching made me come across a word that defines what motivates and guides me through life which is IWAPELE a Yoruba word meaning “Good Character” I believe that the most important gift we can give to the Gods is good character; be the best we can be!
I had no intention on working as an active Priestess or on sharing my studies and views, it was all about curiosity, my own spiritual growth and interest of everything philosophical and spiritual. At some point though, I had to face and accept my priestess obligations quite an internal fight which I believed I was winning but not, when the spiritual realm calls you things happen on their own magical way and in my case people started to come randomly asking for help naturally with ought any knowledge of wanting to help and support others I would unconsciously become a person that friends would contact just in case of needs. I won’t lie at the beginning it got me upset I was extremely sad that as soon as the problem was solved friends would disappear only to appear again when the next problem surfaced but time and meditation showed me that in my case its normal and from that realization I found in myself a sentiment of gratitude towards the Universe that allowed me to have such place in people’s life, from that moment everything in me changed and Suere was “born”.
Suere is a project that has been in my heart for a long time, but the ideas were all over the place I struggled to decide what philosophy or religion to stick to and follow, I wanted it to have a definite structure, I wanted to make up my mind and decide finally which path to follow and stick to it and it was impossible because researching and continuing researching all religions and philosophies had something that spoke to my heart, each one had something that made sense to me and combined made myself happy, improved my life and the lives of people around me. In my strict view I had the obligation of making up my mind and dedicating my life to it, this incapability of decision created numerous doubts of my seriousness as a priestess until my husband said an important phrase that opened my mind “create your own philosophy” I asked for a spiritual confirmation from my spiritual guide which confirmed that was the right path and my internal war ended with a peace treaty between my strict logical self and my spiritual heart.
Here I am finally accepting my priestess role and path so be ready to learn all about different kinds of religions and philosophies, Magick, Witches, Pagans, Priestesses, Spirits, Deities, Orishas, Gods and Goddesses from all different ethnicities. Be also ready to get to know herbs, candles, stones and crystals; how the sun, moon, and planets play with our characters, moods, destiny and much more… Be ready to get to know the power of numerology, how to play with numbers and much more… Be ready to learn how to visualize, attract and manifest what you deserve… Be ready for a journey of self-discovery that will transform you in ways that you probably didn’t know was possible.
